Register Now for Some Summer Arts Fun!!
Summer is here and so is the Greene County Council on the Arts’ 2018 Sprouts Program! Thanks to corporate, municipal, civic and private donations Greene County Council on the Arts is proud to offer its SPROUTS Program again this summer. SPROUTS is FUN and FREE for children ages 3 to 7 who reside in Greene County, NY. Families who live outside the Greene County School District may join in the program with a GCCA Membership. This annual summer arts program, now in its 32nd year, still has room for enrollment for three “easy to get to” sites including Greenville, Hunter and Catskill. Parents or guardians may register their children in advance by calling Sprouts Co-Director Ruth Leonard at 518634-2289.
Because workshops are limited to 15 children per classroom, wee SPROUTS artists, musicians, dancers and thespians get to share their entire week with the same creative classmates, attentive volunteers and inspirational teachers. The workshops are 10:00 to 11:45 a.m., Monday through Friday, in each of the six locations. Sprouts participants will experience two alternating 45-minute workshops, either Art & Music or Theater & Dance leaving lots of room to explore the arts. A healthy snack will be served between workshop sessions. The program serves 60 children per week and 360 throughout the summer and it is FUN, FUN, FUN!
Sprouts Co-Directors Ruth Leonard, Erika Russo and Tara Van Roy have put together another great summer schedule and line up of teachers. They look forward to meeting new Sprouts and greeting returning Sprouts!

Up to 100 teen and pre-teen volunteers, many of whom are former Sprouts attendees, serve as assistants and role models, resulting in a program that serves many age groups in the community. Teens and pre-teens, SPROUTS needs you! Any teen or pre-teen interested in working with professional artists, helping teach young children dance, theater, music or art, as well as looking to gain community service hours, can help with SPROUTS!
