Greene County Council on the Arts has entered its 43rd year of service to the arts and in our work ahead we envision a community that celebrates artistic and cultural diversity and inspires creative engagement.
The impact we have made in 2018 is astounding. Through our various programs GCCA remains strong in its arts advocacy work, service to the arts and strides in public engagement.

A young student attended the 2018 Hunter Stone Carving Studio that took place over two weeks in July. Lead by stone carver, Kevin VanHentenryck, this free seminar was funded in part by the 2018 NYSCA/Decentralization Community Arts Grant Program and served over 80 individuals of all ages and stone carving abilities.
Artist Maria Kolodziej-Zincio talks about the selection from her series “The Forgotten Holocaust” with viewers during GCCA’s Resident Alien Exhibit in April. The series of encaustic mixed media works detailing the story of her parent’s survival of the Nazi invasion in Poland and dramatic route to safe ground in the Hudson Valley was funded through

23 Arts Initiative presented its 5th annual 23Arts Summer Music Festival in the village of Tannersville, NY from July 13 through August 5, 2018. Kicking off this year’s festival was a jazz-themed weekend with leading artist Brianna Thomas, a renowned jazz vocalist named “the best young jazz singer of her generation” by The Wall Street Journal. 23Arts Initiative received funding from the 2018 County Initiative Program in support of its concerts and free outreach programs.
