Unseen Light features work from 17 local artists, many who have lived experience with mental health disorders and bring their perspectives and thoughts on view at the CREATE gallery. Art serves as a vehicle for connection especially for artists expanding their identity beyond the stigmas of mental health. Curator Lizbette Martinez shares, “We are here to shine a bright light. To show others we can heal and live full and filled lives. It is our hope, through this exhibit, that many will realize how invaluable we are in our communities.” This exhibit invites visitors to broaden their awareness of invisible disabilities that are a part of the artists’ experiences.
