Textured Abstractions
With instructor Natalie Boburka
Wednesday, Oct. 2,9, 16 & 23, 6-8pm
Do you find abstract art confusing? Here’s an easy and accessible way to investigate and then create your own non-subjective art. Get ready to be immersed in a new experience, Natalie will be your lifeguard! We will use a trick to create a textured interpretation of an abstract piece of art using plaster on wood. You’ll learn to simplify the composition and find one you are drawn to! You’ll use found objects for interpreting the composition using texture in plaster. When it’s dried, you’ll use different layers of acrylic paint to enhance the texture. These pieces will look and feel intricate, but the process is simple and a fun one too! You’ll end up with a small, textured, many hued artwork on a wooden panel. No framing needed!
As always, no experience necessary.
All materials provided. Four 2-hour sessions
