510 Warren Street Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by Berkshire County artist Doris Simon titled “Multilayered” beginning on Friday, September 6th and ending on Sunday, September 29th. A reception with the artist is on Saturday, September 7th from 2 to 6 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Doris Simon has been living in the Berkshires and painting there for 25 years. She is an abstract artist and gardener who has always been inspired by nature’s colors and beauty. The current show, “Multilayered” references her painting process. Layers of paint, paper, silver and gold leaf peek out from below creating depth and unexpected passages of color. The artist tries to get the viewer to contemplate the stages that combined and evolved to make the finished work. Through the materiality of pigment, gesture and form, the viewer is drawn into the joys of pure visual delight and the artist has transported us to places we can only dream about. As a result, she merges her inner journey with an expression of the color, form, space and texture on canvas.
