The Ghent Playhouse continues its 50th Anniversary season with Ken Ludwig’s 1989 Tony Award-winning comedy-farce “Lend Me A Tenor.” Directed by Ed Dignum, this hilarious salute to 1930’s comedies will run for two consecutive weekends, February 7-9 and 14-16, 2025. The Ghent Playhouse is located at 6 Town Hall Place in Ghent, NY and tickets can be purchased online at GhentPlayhouse.org.

“This madcap comedy of mistaken identities, slamming doors and screwball antics is guaranteed to leave audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter,” said Cathy Lee-Visscher. “It’s an hysterical evening of goofy slapstick, exaggerated accents, romantic entanglements and fun wordplay.” Cast members include Patrick Heffernan, Brian Edward, Lara Denmark, Mark Wilson, Wanda Libardi, Meg Dooley, Amanda Boyd and Brian Yorck.

Director Ed Dignum has a long history as an actor and director. In 2024 he directed the tense family drama “All My Sons” at the Ghent Playhouse. He was theater director at Schalmont Central School in Schenectady for 25 years, directing over 50 shows, and has acted and directed in theater companies throughout Upstate NY and Berkshire County in Massachusetts.

“This is one of the great modern American farces, recalling the physical comedy classics of Chaplin, Keaton, Lucille Ball and so many others,” Dignum said.
