April 14 – MONDAY (AGES 5-8)
w/ Marcus McGregor and Jerylann Warner
Ballet inspired opening and closing activities with Marcus
Creative movement & musical theater with Jerylann. Students will choose a favorite song from a musical (think Moana, Wicked) and create original choreography!
April 15 – TUESDAY (AGES 5-8)
w/ Marcus McGregor & Timna Kliger
Ballet inspired opening and closing activities with Marcus
“Make a dance” utilizing creative, modern dance & improvisation students will create original choreography!
April 16 – WEDNESDAY (AGES 9-12)
w/ Marcus McGregor and Jerylann Warner
Ballet inspired opening and closing activities with Marcus

Capoeira Angola is an Afro-Brazilian martial art dance. It is a movement practice that facilitates play. The performing of it is called play and not dancing or fighting as it centers joy and movement through music.
TEACHING ARTISTS
Timna Jahoda Kligler was raised in Woodstock NY and began her dance training with The Vanaver Caravan. She holds a BA in Dance from Bennington College. After completing a graduate degree in Climate Justice at The New School Timna returned to the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains where she grew up. She has presented her choreography in New York City, Philadelphia, Northampton, and the Hudson Valley. In addition to dancing and making, she teaches children, teens, and adults, and is a community college advisor, freelance writer, and researcher.
Jerylann Warner offers students of all ages a blend of rigor and whimsy aimed at facilitating creative agency and solid dance technique. Her engagement is nurturing and takes dancers very far in their personal and artistic journeys.
Taganyahu Swaby is a Contramestre of Capoeira Angola and an Eastern Medicine practitioner. Tagan has practiced Capoeira Angola for more than two decades. Originally from Jamaica, Tagan first began training Capoeira Angola in Bahia, Brazil in 2000. Tagan founded the group Grupo Capoeira de Angola do Acupe Brooklyn (formerly known as Angoleiros do Brooklyn) in 2009 and has created, directed, and participated in capoeira rodas and presentations including for Brooklyn Museum, BAM Dance Africa, Odunde Festival in Philadelphia, and the Brooklyn African Street Festival. From 2007-2017 Tagan taught Capoeira Angola to inner city youth all over the five boroughs grades 3rd-12th through after school programs. He lives and works in Catskill, NY.
Marcus McGregor – Program Director
Marcus began studying ballet at The Hartford School of Ballet at the age of 13. Marcus was a company member with both Dance Theatre of Harlem for 7 years and Feld Ballet for 7 years.
For the last 10 years, Marcus has taught Ballet at Hudson Valley Academy of Performing Arts where his students perform Nutcracker annually and for the last 8 years, Marcus has taught ballet at Creative Studio in Coxsackie, New York. Marcus has taught dance throughout the Greene County school systems in his role as Education Director at the Petronio Residency Center. Marcus also teaches Master Class for various dance schools throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskills.
He continues to create and perform, most recently featured with Dan Safer’s “The History of Empires”.
