Comfort in Numbers investigates the device of repetition within artistic practice and form. Considering its capacity both to generate comfort through predictability as well as illusion of stability, repetition challenges the viewer’s perceptual expectations and offers an invitation to reconsider the familiar. This exhibition brings together 8 artists based in the Hudson Valley whose practices span a diverse array of media, including installation, textiles, ceramics, painting, and sculpture. Through iterative gestures—collecting, stitching, stacking, recreating, and mark-making—these artists engage repetition as both a formal strategy and a conceptual inquiry.
