Capturing Furgary: Artists views of the vanishing fishing shacks

Capturing Furgary is a group show of works by members of the former CCCA (Columbia County Council on the Arts) and other artists celebrating the uniqueness of the historic Furgary Fishing Village in Hudson. Photographs and paintings on exhibit were made beginning in 2012 when the residents were evicted to more recent work created in 2024. Artists: Robert Coppola, Joan Damiani, Chris DeMarco, Laura Garramone, Gerald Cooley, Karen Anne Hummel, Peter Keitel, David Lesako, Cynthia Mulvaney, Robert Near, Cecelia Sinclair, Tim Slowinski, John Whipple.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, July 19th from 5 to 7pm.
A special artist talk will be held during Catskill’s First Fridays on Aug. 2 that is free and open to the public.
