Greene County Council on the Arts (GCCA) proudly presented its 38th annual youth arts exhibit Outside the Lines 2018 and the young artists once again shared remarkable insight, stories and allowed a rare glimpse into their imaginations with GCCA and our visitors over the past six weeks. It was a privilege featuring artwork by pre-K through Grade 12 students from Greene County public, private and home schools.
GCCA presents its annual Outside the Lines exhibit to give Greene County students the unique opportunity to exhibit their artwork in a professional gallery and it allows visitors to see a wide cross-section of the diversity and promise of our county’s young creative talent. 2018’s exhibit included art from Clare Esmond’s students at Cairo-Durham Elementary, Lillian McCabe’s and Jessica Little’s students at Cairo-Durham Middle and High School, Lara Kelly’s students at Scott M. Ellis in Greeneville, Kim Steele’s students at Greenville Middle School, Gale Della Rocco students at Greenville High School, Dawn Mueller’s students at Athens’ Edward J. Arthur and Coxsackie Elementary, Jennifer Allison’s students at Catskill Elementary, Carli Gazoorian’s students at Catskill Middle School, Wendy Doney’s and Brian McDonnell’s studentsatCatskill High School, Don Yolen’s students at Windham-Ashland-Jewett High School and Joan Starr’s Schroeder Family Homeschoolers.
Greene County’s art teachers and administrators deserve a huge thank you for adding the Outside the Lines exhibition to their already busy schedules. The students, their families and the Arts Council exchanged lots of stories, witnessed one another’s creations and shared an extraordinary amount of pride with their families and friends during this annual student art exhibit.
Greene County Council on the Arts is especially grateful for the support of the following donors to our youth arts programs: The Nan Guterman Foundation, the Town of Catskill, Stewart’s Holiday Match, Hudson River Bank & Trust Foundation, and private donors who contribute through GCCA’s Annual Teacher’s Tribute. Thank you!
