Abstractions in Nature Mixed Media Drawing
With instructor Ruth Leonard
Sept. 16, 23 & 30, 6-8pm
Using plants and other organic forms as a reference, we will draw in a free form manner, producing a variety of images each session. Experimenting with diverse materials many drawings will be produced and later cut and pasted together in a final composition, a kind of kaleidoscope of organic forms.
Using materials such as pencil, charcoal, watercolor ink, we will examine plants, branches, driftwood, shells, fossils, rocks. Underlying our observations we will discover patterns, geometry, undulating lines, color and shapes found in nature which will grow toward abstract images.
All materials provided. Three 2-hour sessions.
