Teaching Opportunities
Seeking Teaching Artists – Become a part of the BOCES after school program CROP (Creating Rural Opportunities Program) and teach students in K-8th grade for The Roxbury Arts Group Sessions are one hour long and can be stand alone sessions or short residencies. Teaching artists will design, source materials and teach lessons with groups of students. This is a paid opportunity of $75 per one hour session plus travel and materials reimbursement. Call for Photography – “Free, For All” – Open Call to Local Artists for Inaugural CPW Community Gallery Exhibition January 18 – February 16, 2025, Submit a single framed work to us and we will include it in a photography exhibition that will inaugurate our Community Gallery in the Van Slyke & Horton building, our new home at 25 Dederick Street in Kingston, New York. All artists from Kingston and the greater Hudson Valley who are working with photography are welcome to submit work. We invite participants to think inclusively about photography’s role in creative and critical explorations of the world around us. Work must be dropped off at CPW in person to be included. – Work must be framed and/or mounted and ready to install. Please include hanging hardware (d-rings, wire, or cleats).

Call for Art – Arte Natura – Limner Gallery – This exhibition will focus on art inspired by the natural world and will be held at the Limner Gallery from May 15 – June 7, 2025. Sound Engineering and Public Performance Mentorship Opportunities – Wave Farm in Partnership with The Avalon Lounge – Two individuals will be selected from an open call for a 40-week Mentorship Program (February – November 2025). Mentees will learn the ins-and-outs of presenting independent and experimental performance in a community setting. Each mentee will receive a stipend of $5,000 in conjunction with the program. They will work closely with mentors Liam Singer (The Avalon Lounge, Wave Farm) and Ben Seretan (Basilica Hudson, The Avalon Lounge) on a weekly-basis to develop skills in sound engineering and event management, including artist relations, curation, booking, promotion, streaming for radio broadcast, and documentation. Mentees will also participate in Wave Farm’s “All Things Audio” a monthly workshop series, designed to help attendees develop sound skills to share their stories through best practices for recording, editing, and live radio. Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF) for Artists 2025 – Wave Farm – New York State Artists may apply for up to $7,500 to support the completion and/or public presentation of a new or recently completed media artwork. For individual artists, MAAF provides support for the completion and/or public presentation of new works in all genres of sound and moving image art, including emergent technology. Grant awards assist artists in completing new work, reaching public audiences, and advance artistic exploration and public engagement in the media arts. Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF) for Organizations – Wave Farm – For organizations, the Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF) provides funds to support technical strategies for online development as well as to hire outside consultants to support organizational and professional development. Interns will assist with the educational outreach and programs at Hudson Valley MOCA (including teaching artists-in-residence, in-house educational programs, tours, creative workshops and more), day to day operations, and general administrative duties related to education. Education interns can expect a wide variety of responsibilities on a day to day basis, with the opportunity to gain experience in a museum environment by observing and assisting staff while obtaining insight into the administrative and curatorial side of a non-profit contemporary art institution. Art Institute Intern – The Art Effect offers internships for school credit. The Art Institute Intern should have an art-focused background as well as a strong interest in arts administration and art education. This intern will work on a variety of tasks including welcoming students and families, maintaining studio and materials, documenting programs via photography and video, and assisting our Teaching Artists as needed. Ideal candidates will have a strong fundamental understanding of the principals of fine art/design and critique. Art Omi – Dance and Music 2025 Residencies Open Call – Through a competitive jury process, residents are invited to attend Art Omi’s residencies at no cost to themselves, apart from travel. Residents have the time and space to hone their own craft while making connections with artists from around the globe and living in a vibrant community. Art Omi: Dance invites accomplished dance artists of all styles from around the world for three weeks of creative exchange each summer.
