It’s not too late to save the planet!
“Throughout the Hudson Valley, and right here in Spencertown, people are working hard to slow the advance of climate change,” says Lisa Bouchard Hoe, chair of the Spencertown Academy’s Conversations with Neighbors program.
At this “Conversations with Neighbors” event, a panel of local luminaries will talk about their activities, answer questions, and show how we can all get involved. This program is free, reservations are requested.
The panel with begin with opening remarks by
- Dr. Anton Seimon, atmospheric scientistwho is a National Geographic explorer and research scholar at Bard College Center for Environmental Policy;
- Paige Ruane, co-founder of Partners for Climate Action, a member of Austerlitz’s Climate Smart Communities Task Force, and leader of the Local Champions program
- John Feldman, a filmmaker whose latest project, Regenerating Life, is a feature-length documentary that takes an ecological approach to unraveling the climate crisis.
They will be joined in conversation by:
- Deborah Conrad, co-chair of the Town of Chatham Climate Smart Action Task Force
- Troy Weldy, president of Columbia Land Conservancy
- Jere Wrightsman, a member of the Austerlitz Town Board and committee chair of the Local Champions program.
Conversations with Neighbors is an occasional series designed to spark neighbor-to-neighbor conversations and celebrate the richness and diversity of the Columbia County community.
