Hudson, NY – 510 Warren Street Gallery is happy to present a show of recent paintings by Kate Knapp
titled “All I Need Is Love” from Friday, February 4th to Sunday, February 27th, 2022. The gallery follows Covid-safe protrocols for all visitors.
February can be a bleak time of year – and perhaps especially this year – but Kate Knapp’s show provides a lush Valentine’s bouquet of color, light and beauty. Flowers bloom in the sunlight. Patterns spill over canvas. Rivers hurry. Gardens promise abundance. The show is a welcome oasis in midwinter because the delight Knapp takes in her subjects is visible in every lavish brushstroke.
“I paint because I am in love with what I see”
It can be something as humble as a single apple lovingly rendered in three separate studies or a bouquet on her kitchen counter. Knapp is able to share an intimate relationship and enchantment with what she is looking at, enticing viewers to see objects and landscapes in a new way. Her subject matter may be simple, but her compositions are complex, a function of Knapp’s expressive brushwork and infatuation with color. In visiting her vibrant world, we too can feel the warmth.
